Lynn was born in Big Springs, Texas on January 27, 1934 to Hillary Jones Phillips and Gertrude (Adams) Phillips. As the youngest son of an oilfield worker, the family moved from Illinois to Texas (where Lynn was born), then to Kansas, Venezuela S.A, and to Comanche Oklahoma where Lynn finished high school. |

There he met Bonnie Belle Bailey. They were married on August 7, 1952. The following year, September 1953, Lynn moved his wife, daughter Pamela Sue and newborn baby, Patricia Ann to west Texas in search of work in the oil patch. He started with Halliburton in 1954 and began the life of an oil patch gypsy with his young family.
From west Texas Lynn was transferred to Nevada, Oklahoma, back to Nevada, Australia, Singapore and then to California. |

In California he met and married Ramona (Mona) Lisa Kuebler in July 1976 and inherited 3 stepchildren, Diana, Frank, and Dana. They (Lynn and Mona) lived and worked in California and Alaska, and then later he worked off shore in Scotland while living in Nevada. After retiring for the second time from Halliburton, Lynn and Mona settled in Washington where they lived until 2008. In Concrete Washington Lynn spent many hours feeding and watching the critters. He enjoyed (and excelled at) jewelry making, painting, glass etching, drawing, woodworking and carpentry. He loved motorcycles, football (Seattle Seahawks), and baseball (Seattle Mariners). He could fix anything with nothing. In later years he enjoyed watching TV and reading. Mona passed away in February 2008 and Lynn could no longer live in Washington by himself. His final move to Oklahoma would not have been possible without the much-appreciated help of his nephew, Ken Phillips and wife, Donna. |
